Tomorrow People

On today’s podcast we are geeking about The Tomorrow People, the new urban fantasy TV show from the CW. This new action, sci fi drama stars Robbie Amell, Peyton List, Luke Mitchell and Mark Pellegrino. This revamped show from the 70’s is awesome with the special effects and fresh story twists. From creator Phil Klemmer, this new show centers around a teenage boy that discovers he’s one of the Tomorrow People, the next evolution of man. He’s got special powers, like teleporting, telepathy, and telekinesis. And the government wants to catch and kill all of them. Fans of the X-men, Push, and other psychic adventures will totally dig on this new show!

X-men: Past and Future

On this week’s podcast we’re geeking about the X-men movies! Talking about their past, their future, and what we might see in the upcoming new movie… X-men: Days of Future Past! We’re excited to see director Bryan Singer back at the helm for this new movies that will mix the older and younger generations of the X-men in this time travel story. We’re looking forward to seeing Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy among others, returning to the big screen in this epic new installment of the Marvel Comic series.

The Originals

On this week’s podcast we are chatting about the new CW TV show, The Originals. This is a spinoff of the popular show, The Vampire Diaries. In this new series, ‘the Original Vampires’ are moving back into New Orleans. The city is at war between the vampires and the witches. Once the witches get a hold of a pregnant werewolf girl, who is carrying the baby of the “Original Vampire-Werewolf Hybrid” they plan to use her as leverage to get the Klaus and his family to take back the city from Marcel and his gang of vampires.

Spoiler Alert! We are going into details about the pilot episode of the show, and giving our reactions to it.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

This week’s podcast is all about the new ABC TV show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Joss Whedon returns to television after his movie success with The Avengers, and continues to build the Marvel Universe storyline with this new show. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. opened to great ratings and looks to be a strong contender in the new TV season. Clark Gregg does an awesome job as Agent Phil Coulson, with a sense of strength and human and unexpected twists. Brett Dalton stars as Grant Ward, a young hot shot agent that joins the team, along with Chloe Bennet as hacker Skye. Sexy Ming-Na Wen plays the badass Melinda May, and the team scientist duo of Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, played by Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge round out the cast. In this podcast we discuss the pilot episode and give out first impressions of the series. SPOILER ALERT! We discuss the events of the pilot episode in detail.

Our Favorite Vampires

In today’s podcast we are all about the scary, the badass, and the hot vampires on TV, in movies, and in books. We run the gamut from hot bad boys, like Ian Somerhalder as Damon on Vampire Diaries, David Boreanaz as Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Wesley Snipes in the Blade series of movies, and Gerard Bulter in Dracula 2000, to the frightening Max Schreck as Nosferatu and Gary Oldman as Dracula. In books we talk about Christine Feehan’s Carpathian series, and both Cameron and Carlos in Kat Richardson’s Greywalker series. We give thumbs up to both Tom Cruise and Stuart Townsend as Anne Rice’s famous vampire Lestat. Plus the awesome female vampires, with Kate Beckinsale from Underwold, Aaliyah in Queen of the Damned, Jennifer Esposito in Dracula 2000, and Kirsten Dunst in Interview with the Vampire. And of course, we couldn’t miss Colin Farrell, Chris Sarandon, and Julie Carmen from the various Fright Night movies.

New Urban Fantasy TV shows

The urban fantasy TV shows coming out this fall include: Sleepy Hollow (FOX) on Sept 16th, Agents of SHIELD (ABC) on Sept 24th, The Originals (CW) on Oct 3rd and The Tomorrow People (CW) on Oct 9. Mid season shows will be Star-Crossed (CW) in ‘early 2014’, Intelligence (CBS) Feb 24th, and Resurrection (ABC) in March 2014.

The Wolverine movie is out in theaters and we’ve gone to see it. This podcast is full of spoilers, if you’ve not seen it yet.
